Do you want to introduce students from all over the world to the Dutch language? Do you find it an enjoyable challenge that many of our students have a different native language? Then we are looking for you!
Your job
You will teach Dutch to our international students in an inspiring, motivating, and enthusiastic way. As a teacher, you are responsible for the teaching of Middle School classes. You teach in Dutch following the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. At Rivers, we teach in smaller groups, allowing you to connect deeply with your students.
You are
Some students were born in the Netherlands but have lived abroad for a long time, while others were born abroad. This creates a lot of diversity in the classrooms, as well as differences in proficiency levels. You have the adaptability to handle this well and understand what your students need. You are a coach for the students and a pleasant and energetic colleague. You can create a safe space for your students and encourage them to come to you with their questions. Since our students often have only recently moved to the Netherlands, these questions can vary widely. You are dedicated to helping students, and sometimes their families, adjust to Dutch customs.
